I saw you as a flame

I saw you as a flame

A burning flame that destroyed and consumed

I saw you as a bitter old maid

Resentful and alone

Now I see you as a caged beast. Roaring against your bonds.

So I set you free

I offer kindness

I respect your power

You didn’t come to destroy or divide

You are here to reveal

You burn away manipulations with acrid painful truths

And so I honor the beast inside. I gently pat her fanged snout

“Yes, dear anger roar and burn. Remind me who we are.”
